I hope this finds you all well! I wanted to make a quick blog update to alert everyone to the potential health risks with recent pet food recalls. I had a couple families contacting us with info about this Class Action Suit against Origen and Acana. https://www.chagrinfallspetclinic.com/2018/03/20/class-action-lawsuit-orijen-acana-dog-foods/ Our Canadian families have often selected these foods as an alternative to Life's Abundance, and sadly its just not a safe choice! For those that don't want to use LA, we will say proceed at your own risk-- and please stay informed!
Tonight we received an alert about yet another raw company with contaminated foods. https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-recalls/
For those of you who don't know our story, we experienced this heartbreaking situation with our own dogs being affected by tainted food years ago, which began our search for a healthy and safe dry food. That was when we discovered Life's Abundance, and we have NEVER had any issues since. LA has never been recalled, and if they happened to have an issue, they ship direct to each customer, so they are able to contact you directly with a warning---you can't have this safety net when purchasing from a store. I love that extra precaution and the fact that the food is so fresh, never sitting in warehouses, then store shelves. Who knows how long some of these foods are hanging around before they are purchased.
Another thing to keep in mind about LA is the fact that your dog will eat less, it is a very high quality, nutrient dense food-- and they have firmer stools as well. Sometimes pet owners have said their dog eats less and they worry if the dog is getting enough, but they don't need as much, it isn't full of fillers like most foods. We also like to add the canned to our dog's food a couple times a week-- it's very high quality and the dogs LOVE it!
Have a great weekend---
