Seeing Through a Breeder's Eyes

Often, it's suggested that a breeder who doesn't allow visits is waving a red flag. But let's flip the perspective. Imagine you have a collection of rare art, each piece unique and irreplaceable. You wouldn't hand out the code to your safe where these treasures are secured just because someone is interested in buying?  Sounds insane, right?  That is the same logic behind these statements that simply do not see a breeder's risk.
That's how we see our Habibi Bear moms and babies, valued not just in dollars but as irreplaceable family members. We must protect our dogs and our home from the unthinkable—criminals who wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of our openness.
In a world where crime rates are climbing and police resources are limited, our vigilance is a necessity, not an option.  We're not just safeguarding our puppies; we're upholding a sanctuary for our family. Asking to visit isn't a simple request—it's asking for trust in a vulnerable situation. Remember that it's not just about seeing the puppies; it's about ensuring their safety and ours. We're not just being cautious; we're being responsible. And that's the kind of environment we promise to provide for every Habibi Bear that comes into this world.

Visiting Habibi Bears:

Our Policies Explained

While we would love to have people come and visit, we currently do not allow visitors after a recent exposure to parvo that took the life of 10 of our precious Habibi Bears and effected a total 15 dogs. In the past we have, but it lead to some complications with transfer of viruses. We know you are extra careful and never have the intention to bring any hitchhikers with you, but we've found the policy of no visitors is the only safe plan at this time. You're always welcome to make an appointment for an extra FaceTime call,  and we also have lots of fun live videos on Instagram and our Zoom Support calls from the Habibi Hub!
We're all about finding the right match for our therapy puppies, and our virtual process is super successful. Plus, we've got your back with advice on choosing a puppy that'll fit right into your home and heart.

Here's the scoop on why we've decided to limit visits:

Mom and Pup Stress: Mamas and their babies need calm. Strangers can stress them out, and that's not good for anyone. We're here to keep the peace and protect the well-being of our dogs.
It's important to understand that a busy environment with many visitors can be overwhelming for a new mom. This is especially true for our affectionate, people-loving Habibi Bear moms. They may become more interested in human interaction than in nurturing their pups, which is a challenge when raising a breed that's so devoted to people. That's why we create a peaceful space for our mothers. This allows them to focus on what they do best – caring for their little ones, ensuring they grow up to be the incredible companions you're looking for.
Health Safety: Our little ones aren't fully immune yet, and we've had some tough times with diseases like Parvo. We're being extra careful to keep them healthy.
Keeping Our Puppies Safe; We make a promise to our puppies and their new families: cuddles are reserved for those who've made the commitment. Why? Because bringing in visitors is a gamble. Not everyone has the same dedication to safety, and without knowing if they've been around other dogs, there's a real risk. They could unknowingly bring in diseases like parvo, and we can't let that happen. Our goal is to shield our puppies and their future families from the devastation of preventable illnesses.
Choosing the Right Puppy: Picking a puppy is about more than a quick visit. We get to know each one and help you choose based on their personality, not just looks or a momentary energy burst during your visit. We're here to help you find a Habibi Bear that really suits your everyday life, especially since it's tough for novices to know what to look for beyond the fluff and fun.
We're not a kennel; we're a family: Our home is where we live and love, and we want to keep it a peaceful place.
Security Matters: Understanding Our Home Visit Policy Our home visit policy is centered on the wellbeing of our puppies and ensuring our home remains a safe haven, especially in a time when theft is prevalent and police resources are stretched thin.  It's like having a valuable piece of art and posting the address online with the doors unlocked. While we trust that most people are kind and mean well, our dogs and their puppies are irreplaceable and we must protect them from the few who might see them as a target for theft. We need peace of mind to ensure our home, our family, and our animals are secure. Your understanding means the world to us, and we're grateful for your support of our safety-first approach.
Our Home, Not a Petting Zoo: We love our pups too much to have them treated like a sideshow. We're focused on their care and happiness, not on being a stop for casual visitors.
We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to help you find your new best friend - virtually for now, and in person on Gotcha Day!
