a breeder with purpose: my story
Before I became a full-time breeder, I was a school teacher working with children who had diverse emotional and learning needs. I witnessed firsthand the incredible calming power of a dog in the classroom—and how one intuitive little puppy could help children regulate their emotions, connect more easily, and feel safe. That experience changed everything for me.
In those early years, I began breeding purebred dogs, with a particular love for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Their sweet, soulful nature was everything I valued in a companion. But my journey took a sharp turn after an experience at a dog show that opened my eyes to some painful truths in the breeding world. I saw how the pressure to conform to outdated standards was hurting the dogs I loved. That was the moment I knew my mission was no longer aligned with the purebred world as it stood. I left that path and followed a new one—driven by heart, healing, and purpose.
I began developing my own line of dogs to support the children I worked with. Many of their parents dreamed of giving their child a special companion, but allergies stood in the way. As wonderful as Cavaliers are, they are a shedding breed, and sadly, many families couldn’t bring one into their home. I wanted to create a dog that offered all the loving, intuitive traits of the Cavalier, but in a hypoallergenic, non-shedding coat—something truly compatible with modern families and their needs.
At the same time, I couldn’t ignore the growing health issues plaguing the Cavalier breed due to inbreeding and a dangerously small gene pool. I felt called to help—by preserving what we all love about the Cavalier while restoring vitality through carefully selected, compatible companion breeds. My goal wasn’t just to create a new dog—it was to build a new legacy. A breed that would honor the spirit of the Cavalier while giving families the joy, connection, and peace of mind they deserve.
